Thomas McShane named Head of Technology and Media E&O at Tokio Marine Kiln - Reinsurance News
Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK), an international insurer, has appointed Thomas McShane as Head of Technology and Media E&O, a newly created position.
McShane will officially join the company in January and will report to Laila Khudairi, Head of Cyber & Enterprise Risk.
In this role, McShane will focus on expanding TMK’s global cyber and technology services, particularly aimed at supporting technology and media companies.
His expertise in Technology E&O will strengthen TMK’s existing cyber and intellectual property capabilities.
Aligned with TMK’s broader business objectives, McShane will also work on growing the portfolio across the UK, US, Europe, and Australia.
With nearly ten years of experience in professional lines, McShane previously led the E&O team at Axis, where he was responsible for developing strategic portfolio direction, writing complex policies for technology clients, and adapting products to meet evolving risks. Prior to Axis, he spent almost seven years with Allianz and AIG, underwriting professional indemnity and cyber lines.
Laila Khudairi, Departmental Head of Cyber and Enterprise at TMK, commented: “TMK has been at the forefront of the cyber market since its inception. In this rapidly evolving class, we have continually sought to evolve and diversify our offering, bringing a level of threat analysis, underwriting expertise and claims service which is second to none.
“Appointing Thomas to deepen and extend our offering to technology businesses is the latest example of our philosophy in practice. The risk landscape for technology businesses is becoming more complex by the day. Threat actors are increasingly sophisticated, and AI is adding new weapons to their arsenals. Thomas is the ideal candidate to spearhead the expansion of our Technology offering and I look forward to working with him.”
