Conveying Equipment Orders up in First Half of 2024 Compared with 2023

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association Inc. (CEMA) estimates that overall industry booked orders for January through June 2024 increased 13.3% compared to the first half of 2023, with total orders of $10.6 billion.

To break it down by month, February showed an increase from January 2024 by 8.28%, yet March decreased 11.73% compared to February 2024.

For industry billed sales (shipments) for January through June 2024, CEMA estimates they decreased 11.3% compared to the same period in 2023, with total shipments of $8.7 billion.

CEMA estimates industry Unit Handling orders were up 19.0% January through June 2024, while Unit Handling shipments decreased 14.9% compared to the same period in 2023.

In the Bulk Conveying sector, CEMA estimates orders were up 1.2% and shipments were down 0.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

CEMA tracks new orders and shipped sales volume in nine classes of Unit Handling equipment and four classes of Bulk Handling equipment.
