Husqvarna Construction, an Olathe, Kansas-based North American affiliate of the Sweden-based manufacturer, has announced its latest line of large floor grinders.
Outfitted with features from the consolidation of three product lines, the new grinder line combines features from the company's most popular machines under one optimized platform. The models have been designed for maximum comfort, efficiency and reduced maintenance costs, the company says.
The line includes the PG 8 DR, PG 8 XR, PG 8 D, PG 5, PG 8 S and PG 6 S models.
Each model has a hermetically sealed grinding head and electrical cabinet design, designed to prevent water or dust from intruding and damaging components, as well as EZChange, which Husqvarna describes as a “hassle-free system” for changing diamond tooling.
“As the complete partner in surface preparation, we’re committed to giving our customers everything they need for the job,” says Joakim-Leff Hallstein, Husqvarna vice president of product and service for concrete surfaces and floors.
The PG 8 DR, PG 8 XR, PG 8 D and PG 5 models are being marketed as efficient planetary floor grinders designed for all types of flooring applications, including texturing, preparing, grinding and polishing. These models achieve consistent scratch patterns and smooth, even surfaces with minimal effort, the company says. Features for these models include remote control, dual drive technology and EZ Change Airflow.
Meanwhile, the PG S and PG 6 S are described as versatile, all-around planetary floor grinders suitable for most applications, from coating removal to grinding and polishing on concrete and natural stone.
