SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – Doug Katz, chef/owner of Amba and Zhug restaurants, has come home. With his business partner Todd Thompson, he’s opening a restaurant next week in the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights, the community where he grew up.

The location and the restaurant are personal. Kiln reflects things close to Katz’s heart – the neighborhood, sourcing locally, handmade pottery and, of course, food.
