Black Mountain has proposed a cement kiln located in Dorchester, Texas.

DORCHESTER, Texas (KTEN) — Sunday afternoon, people in Dorchester, Texas, participated in a prayer walk to protest against Black Mountain Cement.

Black Mountain is in the process of proposing a cement kiln in Dorchester, which people who live nearby have expressed they're against. They say there are concerns for potential pollutants and disruption it could bring to the town if it were to become a reality.

"I just think there are a lot of issues with regards to water and air, and the impact it's going to have on our economy," said state Rep. Reggie Smith.
