Sulfide flotation is currently the main method for the industrial treatment of copper oxide ores. It is applicable to carbonate-containing copper oxide ores, such as malachite, azurite, hematite, etc., and silicon malachite is not specially treated in advance , Its vulcanization effect is very poor, and it is impossible to vulcanize. The key to sulfur flotation is to strictly control the amount of sodium sulfide. A suitable amount of sodium sulfide is a copper oxide mineral activator. After exceeding a critical amount, sodium sulfide is an inhibitor of copper sulfide minerals.
In order to reduce or prevent this inhibitory effect, staged dosing is often used in industrial production to control the concentration of vulcanizing agent in the pulp.

 

According to different useful ingredients, copper sulfide ore can be divided into the following categories:
(1) Single copper mine. The ore is relatively simple and the only valuable component that can be recovered is copper. Veins are mainly quartz, silicates and carbonates.
(2) Copper and sulfur ore. In addition to copper minerals, this ore can also be recovered from iron sulfide minerals. The main mineral of sulfur is pyrite. This ore is called copper-bearing pyrite.
(3) Copper pyrite. In addition to the copper minerals and pyrite that can be recovered, the ore also has magnetite that is worth recycling.
(4) Copper and molybdenum ore. In addition to copper minerals, this ore also contains molybdenite. In addition to copper and molybdenum, some ore can be recovered from magnetite and pyrite.
(5) Copper-nickel ore. Its useful ingredients are in addition to copper minerals, as well as nickel-containing minerals, such as nickel sulfide, nickel-containing pyrite, pyrrhotite and the like.
(6) Copper-cobalt ore. Its useful ingredients are in addition to copper minerals, as well as cobalt-containing pyrite. The latter is selected as the cobalt concentrate.

For the buoyancy of copper sulfide minerals, the following rules can be summarized:
(1) All minerals that do not contain iron, such as chalcopyrite and copper blue, have similar buoyancy, and cyanide and lime have weaker inhibitory effects on them.
(2) All iron-containing copper minerals, such as chalcopyrite, pyrite, etc., are easily inhibited by cyanide and lime in alkaline media.
(3) Xanthophyll collectors mainly chemically adsorb with cationic Cu2 +, so the surface contains many Cu2 + minerals, which has a strong effect on xanthophyll. The order of effect is: chalcopyrite> copper blue> porphyrite> chalcopyrite.
(4) The buoyancy of copper sulfide minerals is also affected by factors such as crystal grain size, embedded grain size, and primary and secondary factors. Crystals and embedded fabrics are too thin, and it is more difficult to float. The secondary copper sulfide ore is easy to oxidize and harder to float than the primary copper ore.
